The set costs twelve dollars and actually is a really good product for something that cheap. I bought the set mainly for Captain America and was surprised because the motorcycle is really nice as well. The Captain America minifigure is really cool; he does not have a helmet but he does have a really good shield. The shield has a spot for him to hold it on the back, and it does not weigh his arm down. The nice thing about the motorcycle is that there is a place on the back (you can just barely see it in the picture, it is the black piece on top) to put Captain America's shield. It may not be from the 'Captain America' movie or from "The Avengers" but it looks really nice that way. The aliens are still really nice figures as well. The small aircraft that the commander alien has is easy to build and holds together well; the movable wings stay stationary while playing but they are still easily moved. The small launcher "base" is... I grew up with the toys, but was brought back into the fold as an adult. And being a huge comic book fan growing up, this Marvel line has been something that I've really looked forward to.This is the tiniest set in the line, but super important because it comes with Captain America. MINIFIGS: 1. Captain America - I love seeing his shield in LEGO form! I do wish he had some sort of helmet and that the blue of his suit was just a tiny bit lighter, but just seeing Captain America in minifig form is pretty freaking awesome. 2. Aliens (2) - Two of the aliens (Loki's Army... or so I'm told. I haven't seen the movie yet) are included. It's cool that there's more than one of them, though I wish one would have been replaced by a classic villain like Red Skull or something. Maybe once the movie's out I'll change my opinion on them. Now they're just kind of boring. SET: Pretty basic... It's essentially a minifigure set, with Captain America (who comes with a neat shield, but sadly no helmet) and a pair of Chitauri (the alien invaders from the Avengers movie) warriors. Cap gets a slick red motorcycle and the aliens have a small platform and a separate glider, both of which fire missiles.Complexity: With just 72 pieces (and a sheet of decals), this was a very easy set to assemble. My son assembled the minifigures while I snapped together the motorcycle and assembled the Chitauri gear. I doubt it took more than 5 minutes altogether. Playability: It's Captain America riding a motorcycle! Of course this set has a high fun factor. I wish they had made the set a bit more movie-based. Cap used the motorcycle in the Captain America film, not the Avengers, so they should have made his foes a couple of... Read more |
