Fortress Features Outer Wall and Modular Construction
The Helm's Deep fortress set features a 6-inch-high outer wall, a 9-inch tower with horn, and an inner throne room. When the three pieces are connected together, this set measures 20 inches wide. To faithfully recreate the famous battle, the fortress boasts an opening main gate, side-door attack function, catapult, and exploding wall. But beware, as there is also a siege ladder and bomb that the relentless Uruk-hai warriors can use to breach the wall's defenses.
For more versatile play, the modular construction of the components allows the fortress sections to be rearranged to your liking. The included sticker sheet enhances the fortress details.
Mini-Figures Let You Pit Good Against Evil
Eight LEGO mini-figures are included with the Helm's Deep set, including Aragorn, King Théoden, Gimli, Haldir, Berserker Uruk-hai, and three Uruk-hai warriors. Each detailed figure can be equipped with a wide range of included accessories, such as swords, single- and double-bladed axes, bows, shields, torches, and spears. A horse figure with a movable head and back legs takes King Théoden into battle.
Assembling Helm's Deep
Building such an impressive fortress of 1,368 pieces took our testers approximately four hours to complete. Four colorful instruction booklets have large pictures to offer sufficient guidance.
Once assembled, Helm's Deep offers several detailed play areas. Its broad size makes it an ideal play set to reenact battles. Our testers appreciated the fine attention to detail, including flags, torches, and goblets, as well as the moving set pieces, such as the gate, catapult, and collapsible wall.

It takes up approximate shelf space of 20 inches across by 15 inches deep. The tower in this set is about 10.5 inches tall. While this set is modular and sections can be removed, you won't want to display anything but the entirety of it all! :)PACKAGING: This set is so big it requires FOUR instruction manuals. After much thought I decided to go with this set to start my LOTR Lego collection, and it has turned out to be my best Lego purchase ever! The detail on the fort and minifigures are amazing. There is a blowapart wall where the Urik-hi breach the defenses, plus a couple of other awesome features. The choice of minifigures was great. I would have liked to have a couple more Urik-hi, and maybe another elf, but besides that you couldn't have asked for a better lineup of figures. The new horse is also awesome (its legs actually move so that you can make it rear). Before I say anymore here are some pros and cons.Pros. Great design. Movie accurate. Has great play potential(you can add on Urik-hi army to this set) Cons. Berserker doesn't have a helmet like in the movie(it is painted on his head). The keep (which you can't see in the pictures) doesn't have a door like in the movie... Read more |
