He wanted to start getting the "regular" Legos from Star Wars and the Lego Dino. I worried about the little pieces, but he's done a really good job with them. I've now bought them to have on hand for rewards, birthday presents, for friends, etc. He can make them himself and has had fun altering them with each other's parts. They are very rewarding educational toys. Some Lego kits are very costly, but these prices are very reasonable for something so with so many benefits. 2 of 2 people found the following review helpful LEGO and Dinosaurs... a Winning Combination, By LegoAddict "Matt" (San Francisco, CA) - See all my reviews = Durability: = Fun: = Educational: This review is from: LEGO Dino Ambush Attack 5882 (Toy) {{{The price I noticed went up a bit since I bought this set. (was $11.99 now $16.99 at time of posting.) So you might look for it cheaper at Wal-Mart or Target. Perhaps these sets were so popular, that Amazon ran out and upped the price. Then you have a little set piece with leaves and some other environmental-type pieces (orange teeth?) Then of course you have the dinosaur. The paint-job is superb as always and the design is pretty cute. Unfortunately, the dino is not pose-able, but still pretty neat. I always especially enjoy these small sets that LEGO puts out. They always have great playability and value. I honestly... My son wanted LEGO Dino since he saw it in the LEGO club magazine. The LEGO club magazine is definitely an effective marketing tool for kids and they want everything shown in the magazine. I bought him this set as a small starter set to see how it was since this was a different theme and had a dinosaur. The vehicle is similar to other vehicles in the LEGO City sets. He likes role playing with the minifigure and the dinosaur. He likes building according to the instructions and mixing pieces with other sets to his own creation. |
