LEGO The Lord of the Rings Hobbit Gandalf Arrives (9469) Reviews
7 of 7 people found the following review helpful A beautiful little set, GANDOLF Arrives!, By B-Goody (Ann Arbor ,MI) - See all my reviews = Durability: = Fun: = Educational: This review is from: LEGO The Lord of the Rings Hobbit Gandalf Arrives (9469) (Toy) Gandolf Arrives is a 83 piece set of the scene when Gandolf comes to see Bilbo at the Shire. Comes with a very nice looking Gandolf figure with wizard hat, staff and assortments of fireworks, snakes, a carrot, satchel, envelope, bone and a spell-book. Also comes with a Frodo figure. A horse leads Gandolf's rolling carriage. This is a simple set, good for the youngin's and a nice set to display or add to your adventure on the way to Mordor. A good price for what you get. It was quite cheaper at "Toys "R" Us," than here on Amazon. 5 of 5 people found the following review helpful The only LEGO set you'll find Gandalf the Grey in (at least initially), = Durability: = Fun: = Educational: This review is from: LEGO The Lord of the Rings Hobbit Gandalf Arrives (9469) (Toy) 9469 Gandalf Arrives was initially released in May of 2012 with a LEGO store price of $12.99. It is the cheapest (price-wise) of the first wave of Lord of the Rings-licensed LEGO toys, and contains two minifigures (Gandalf the Grey and Frodo), horse, pieces for a cart, and accessories (fireworks, book, barrel, carrot, snake wand, etc..). It has 83 total pieces.Overall, this is a pretty nice set. It is the *ONLY* initial LEGO LotR set that you can get Gandalf in. But even if you're only a LEGO fan and not a LotR fan, the set still has a lot going for it. While there are other figures that wear the magician hat, this is the first I can remember in grey. The horse and cart are suitable for LEGO City, Castle, Kingdom, and other theme use. The accessories (carrot, book, fireworks, etc..) also make a nice addition to anyone's LEGO collection. If you're a fan of the movies, of course, THIS is the set you need to re-live Gandalf's visit in The Fellowship of the Ring... I love this set because it has one of my favorite characters. Personally i woulda payed $13 just for gandalf! but you also get shire frodo! This set just brings back alot of the lord of the rings memoreys. If your a fan i would highly reccomend getting it. I also hope Lego makes a $100+ set of the shire. I mean without a doubt i would buy it! even if they made it a 4,000 piece set charging $400 i would buy it! If you think this frodos like the other ones in two other sets, hes not. This frodo has his classic shire clothes and he also has different face expressions than the other frodos. I guess you could say its the cheerful frodo before he gets the ring.
