It is part of the first series of Lord of the Rings-licensed LEGO toys. It contains 5 minifigures (Aragorn, Frodo, Merry, and two ringwraiths), two black horses, pieces to build the fortress, and accessories (THE ONE RING, weapons, flames, etc..).I *REALLY* wanted to like this set. I mean, the ringwraiths (also known as Nazgul and Dark Riders) are some of the signature villains in LotR; Aragorn is action incarnate; *THE ONE RING* is in this set (as well as in 9470 Shelob Attacks); and Weathertop seemed pretty cool with its circular form and opening design. But, to me, the reality of the set just didn't live up to expectations. The ringwraiths are BORING - basically, generic black hoods we've seen in other sets combined with what amounts to black Ninjago outfits and black headpieces. The build is great, features nice landscaping and a cool technique to create the curved wall. The minifigures are awesome and it features two of the new lego horses! I heartily recommend this set for Lego fans and LotR fans alike!! 1 of 1 people found the following review helpful Intricate Details & Full of Character(s)!, = Durability: = Fun: = Educational: This review is from: LEGO The Lord of the Rings Hobbit Attack on Weathertop (9472) (Toy) Ok, this set is just awesome. First the characters: Frodo, Aragorn, Merry, and the Ringwraiths. A fantastic cast of characters that adds considerably to the entire Lord of the Rings LEGO series. Plus, the Ringwraiths ride on the new LEGO horses, which are beautifully designed specifically for the wraiths. These new horses have the ability to stand in a rearing position, which is a very welcome improvement. Frodo comes with the One Ring, and the sword Sting. The set itself is fantastic, a unique spiraled staircase, secret chamber inside, weapons racks, trap door, bolt-firing mechanism, campfire, and intricate details throughout, including little statues. I can't say anything bad about it! |
