Easy to put together, though a bit flimsy, even for legos. Lego Star Wars planets??? YES!, By JDHD (Kensington,MD USA) - See all my reviews = Durability: = Fun: = Educational: This review is from: LEGO Star Wars Tie Interceptor and Death Star 9676 (Toy) I'm a medium Star Wars fan, not obsessed. But I loved Legos as a kid, and now that my kids are 6 and 8, we have a ball building things from my beloved blocks that my mom saved all this time, god bless her. Bought my son some Duplos, that was good for a year or so, but he ached to use the regular legos, which I feared were too small for him. My mistake! I should have eagerly embraced his interest, since it increases fine motor control and encourages imagination. So the combination of Star Wars and Legos hits real close to my heart, and I snapped up all three of these planet/building sets the second I saw them. We built them in a jiffy, and enjoyed the presence of Lego Star Wars planets immensely. (well, maybe that's mostly me) The sets are tiny and fragile, so we've had lots of breakdowns. This set (or mini-set) contains one minifigure (of TIE Pilot) , one mini version of TIE Interceptor and one globe (the Death Star, actually). In the Lego box, all the contents come inside this globe, which is really cool and creative. The minifigure is really awesome but then it's my first Star Wars minifigure so I'm excited but I guess there are many minifigs like this one out there. The main problem with this set is with the TIE Interceptor. Along with this set, I had bought other two in this series, that is the "Naboo Starfighter" and "Sebulba's Podracer". But these two are much better than the TIE Interceptor. Why? It's because the TIE Interceptor, though it looks nice, is not very stable. The TIE Interceptor consists of one central piece and four flaps/arms (whatever) attached to the central unit. Now each flap comes with a peg by which the flap is attached to the central unit. These flaps are... Read more |
