We bought this for our 2.5-yr old thinking that 52 pieces would be just right for him to get started on Lego's. O course he didn't have the attention span to go through the instructions, but he did assemble the pieces with our assistance. Quick review:

The good:
- Pieces are good sized so our son could snap them together without any problem.
- Looks great once assembled
- Hey, it's a Lego!

The not so good:
- The bottom panel doesn't stay together very well and comes apart during assembly (happened 5-6 times with us). The ramps are poorly set on the blocks. I think another layer of reinforcement on the bottom would help, that is what we ended up doing when putting this together. With an added layer, the bottom pieces stay firmly in place (we used bottom pieces from a different Lego set)
- For 52 pieces, it feels overpriced at $45.

Overall a good set to get for I guess a 3-3.5yr or younger. Children older than that will proably... Read more

I have 4 grandchildren. I bought this for a 4 year old granddaughter. She was interested in putting together legos. Because the older grandchildren love the movie, they've all had fun playing with it. They all love taking it apart, making something else, playing with the cars, and then starting over again. Lots of fun!

2.0 out of 5 stars not stable, January 4, 2012

Thought this would be fun to build and play with my 3 boys (my oldest being a master at building legos) it is not very stable and the pieces don't stay together very well. This is very frustrating to my 4 year old while playing with the cars its is continually tipping over and falling apart. When my 9 yr old tries to fix it more pieces come off. I would not reccomend this toy! Too frustrating for all involved with playing!
