In fact, I haven't bought any Lego sets (other than a few of the board games) since the Star Wars Legos first came out. That being said, I fear that the new Monster Fighters theme may have started a new obsession for me. When I saw these while browsing the Lego aisle to take a peek at the Lord of the Rings Legos, I was floored. Here was everything I liked in one place: classic movie monsters, Lego weapons, zombies, modified turn of the century vehicles, slightly steam punkish characters, spooky old castles, and glow in the dark pieces. I was hooked and within two trips to the store managed to get all 7 Monster Fighters sets available. First, you have the "Swamp Vehicle", something like a miniature catamaran without its sail. It is piloted by a "rocker man", Frank Rock. I do have to say that I would have expected Frank Rock to come in something resembling swamp-camo gear (or else how can he discreetly capture the moonstone)? Second, you have the Swamp Creature (bearing resemblance to the Creature from the Black Lagoon) and its tiny island. The island could have been designed to be more than a holder for the moonstone. In my personal opinion, the swamp creature is the best part of the set because of its unique headgear.This is the first set I've bought that costs under $9.99 and based on its contents, I think that you'll definitely be satisfied with it.
