The instructions are straight forward and very clear. There are a total of fewer than 15 steps for the speeder. Each step only involves 3-5 pieces. The pieces are brightly colored so no confusion there.The first step to teaching a child to follow the instructions is to have him find the pieces needed for each step. Offer to help him put together the pieces only when he needs help. Offer to help him reorient the partially constructed speeder when he is confused can be helpful. My youngest put this together with me when he was 4.5. The only problems he had was pushing the pivoting piece into the cradle piece, which took some force. Since the speeder is symmetrical, he had a second chance to put together the pivoting and cradle pieces of the opposite side himself. The only confusion was the...
