4.0 out of 5 stars Good Starter Rocket Set, January 7, 2012

Bought for my 5 year old this Christmas, he was envious of his Dad's larger Lego Space Shuttle kit. Now, with this smaller kit, it allowed him to interact with his Dad's set without breaking it.

Sure, its small, and its perfect for his tiny hands. He needed a little help with assembly but from there he did fine. The rocket is pretty sturdy, the satellite is more fragile. Our favorite part is the launch pad deck and controls has a small computer and even a coffee cup on the desk.

Who really needs to review Legos? If your kids love them, they love them! But I admit I was a little skeptical to spend the money on this set. I wasn't sure if my 8 year old would find this set cool enough because it looked too easy and simple for him. I did it because we have some NASA people in our family and I wanted to honor the space shuttle. And I didn't want to spend more on the real Lego Space Shuttle model out there.

I'm glad I did! He loved it anyway. If your kid is into the shuttle or the City Series, this is fun. My kids incorporated it into their Lego town and were blasting it off and "flying" it around the room pretty quickly. It's more durable than a complex model. And they liked the satellite thing even though it was small. Christmas morning thumbs up!

Should have realized legos are smaller than I remembered as a kid. Cute set and my nephew will enjoy it but smaller than I expected.
