By no means is this a good "solo build" for such a young kid. I think the recommended age (7-12) is spot on for solo building. This one was fun to build together though. We have not tried the two alternative models yet, but they look great. The "Creator" series are the closest to the origional format of legos. Good kits, with lots of rebuilding potential. The lighted brick in this kit is a fun addition. Other than that there are really only a few pieces that are not "standard" and the assortment looks good for future builds (eventually this will end up in our tub of bricks). Overall a decent value.I avoid the theme series (star wars, toy story, etc.). It is durable as all Lego brand toys are. I'd recommend it to anyone. My just 5 year old son loves it and can put it together himself with the directions. 2 of 2 people found the following review helpful A robot and lego enthusiast's review, = Durability: = Fun: = Educational: Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: LEGO Creator Rescue Robot 5764 (Toy) The Lego Rescue Robot looks quite nice on both the box and the completed figure. It has a block with a small led on it, batteries included (important!), two arms and leg joints, in the arms there's the shoulder joint and elbow shoulder, you can also count the two fingers if you want, but they aren't much of a joint than just actual fingers. On the legs it has joints near the waist to move the legs sideways and very limited movement forward and backward, plus joints in the angles that move only side ways.Overall, the color scheme is very good for the theme the robot has. Feels like something the body of Firefighters would have if they had enough funds to have a mech research project. Some problems I have found with this set are focused mainly on structure and durability, and are as follow: - The main 4 joints from the body to the four limbs feel like they should had been backward. Due to how the leg joints are placed in the waist, the piece only allows... Read more |
