My son (7) picked this one out himself out of all the $20 and under sets at the Lego store. When assembled, it has movable wings and comes with the bad-guy pilot and the R2-Q2 robot. It took him about 1 hour to build, start to finish, with me helping to sort the pieces, correct a couple mistakes, and put the decals on. Overall, it was a straightforward build and not too tricky. Once completed, the cockpit opens and closes using a hinge, and the wings on the rear sides rotate 90 degrees. The grey parts of the wings can also be bent. There are no shooting missiles. The pilot can fit in the cockpit even with his gun in his hand, which is nice. R2-Q2 is slightly metallic in color, not just a plain grey. It has a variable position wing that rotates and bends, which is nice, but also a bit flimsy. The rest of the craft is quite sturdy and well designed. For a child, it can be played with, but watch those wings - because of their ability to rotate and bend, it may fall off during play. As for a display piece, it is ok. It doesn't come with landing gears or a stand, but it does rest on 1 clear round cylinder piece that is strategically placed in the center of gravity of the craft. 3 of 3 people found the following review helpful 20 minutes to fun, By = Durability: = Fun: = Educational: This review is from: LEGO Star Wars Imperial V-wing Starfighter 7915 (Toy) This fun little set is quick to assemble and fairly durable. The wings rotate and flex. 139 pieces. Includes 2 minifigs.Recipient is nine years old and a skilled LEGO builder; it took him 20 minutes to build the entire set independently. More durable than the Hyena Droid Bomber, thank heavens. Fun for play. |
