I grew up with the toys, but was brought back into the fold as an adult. And being a huge comic book fan growing up, this Marvel line has been something that I've really looked forward to.Of all the new Marvel sets, the Wolverine Chopper Showdown is probably my favorite (though I'm still waiting on the Quinjet, so we'll see). It's certainly a good value for the money as far as the mini figures are concerned. But the actual set's pretty cool too. MINIFIGS: 1. Wolverine - An awesome figure. He's here in his classic comic book outfit, sans mask (although you can see it rolled down on the back printing). The claws look better than I thought they would and I'm happy that they're removable. The hair is perfect Wolverine-style. 2. Magneto - The best X-Men villain, this figure is very loyal to the comics. Would have been cool to have included a hair piece for when his helmet was off, but this is still... If you like LEGO and you like Marvel comics -- and you should -- this thing is like crack.LEGO bricks are LEGO bricks and are simply awesome and worth a purchase just because they're LEGO. We all know that. But these LEGO bricks, they contain Wolverine. Wolverine, simply the baddest of all the Marvel superheroes and certainly one of the most loved. The only people who don't like Wolverine are insane. And communists. But mostly, insane. Of course, the fun doesn't stop there, you've got everyone's favorite wise-cracking, non-sequitur mercenary for hire, Deadpool. This stream of conscious pop culture quoting opportunist couldn't be more fun to play with. Is he on Wolverine's side? Maybe. Or maybe he's in league with Magneto. We received it in the mail a full 2 days earlier than expected, and he couldn't wait to put it together. He's been carrying it around with him and playing with it constantly whenever he's out of school, and his mom and I are very pleased we finally found something that holds his attention besides TV or video games. Legos, while I still believe they're overpriced for what you get, are a great toy for kids of all ages.The mini-figures are of good detail, although good luck getting Wolverines hair to stay in place while playing with him. My only complaint is that there's not a mask available for him, but that's covered on the min-fig by having his mask painted on his back. Deadpool is good, as is Magneto. The helicopter has flick missiles, which can be rotated up or down, and I'm assuming they'll be the first thing to get lost. All in all, I'm very pleased with this set, and will buy more. |
