The axe/sword weapon and the spikes really make it gorgeous as a result of their sheer spikiness and the yellow coloring of the tips of the spikes. Xplode also has plenty of joints and can be posed well. The design is quite durable and won't easily fall apart during play. I worry about the armor on his ankles coming loose, but no worries yet. As a Lego set, Xplode is also very capable. There are plenty of ways to rearrange his armor and rebuild his weapons without any additional parts.There are, however, some minor problems. There are three burgundy/dark red pieces: his upper arm and his meager chest armor. While they definitely add some tone to the set, they stick out. It would have been better to color those pieces the same red as the rest of the set or make some of the black pieces, like the upper legs or their armor, also dark red. Also, I don't know about anybody else, but I hate launchers and missile-firing weapons with a passion... It only comes with one "bomb" and is somewhat difficult to keep track of.
