The skill level is a bit challenging. I put this together with a 7 and 9 year old and the 7 year old lasted about 20 minutes. The Raider looks great when complete and goes well with the other Atlantis series sets. 1 of 1 people found the following review helpful Not bad, just not the best, = Durability: = Fun: = Educational: Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: LEGO Atlantis Deep Sea Raider 7984 Y (Toy) We enjoyed assembling this addition to the Lego Atlantis line and it has some neat features. The drill is fun, but the real plus is a miniature deep sea raider that fits into the back of the machine and can be released to do its own exploring. The biggest problem with this one is that is doesn't stay together as well as some of the other Atlantis sets. Still not a bad purchase, just some of the other sets, like the Typhoon Turbo Sub and Undersea Explorer have held up better to the rigorous imaginative play my young sons put them through. An addition: After rebuilding and examining this set, I put a 2 x 12 black plate from our free-build stash running the length of the sub underneath to stabilize the build. It worked great and now stays together as good as can be. Now that it doens't fall apart so easily it has become a favorite. Design is a bit poor, By Hopels (East Coast) - See all my reviews = Durability: = Fun: = Educational: This review is from: LEGO Atlantis Deep Sea Raider 7984 Y (Toy) I found it easy to build. The problem is that the design is poor. It has multiple weak points and even I have problems working the moveable pieces and not having it break, let alone my 2 year old. We also have a lot of the dinosaur Lego sets and all the moving pieces are much sturdier.Unless you're a hardcore Lego collector or HAVE to have the Atlantis set I would look at some of the other series'. |
