As for the educational value...? I guess if we go to war with robotic rat creatures kids can dissect the toy and study it. The only gripe would be the nub of a tail and pointy little spears running along the rat's face. LEGO could have added a few more pieces for a segmented tail, but the ridges on the back look awesome. I'd get this for any child above the age of 8 (unless they are a little impatient then 10).
