its lego. fun for all ages. over the years, quality got worse and worse, and finally, lego listened to the complants and suggestions of the people that have been buying the product for years. newer set doesnt have loose legs, printing is more even. whats more, the instructions arent dogeared. they come in plastic bags with a board that keeps them flat.

lego has made lots of collabs over the years. they made toy story, prince of persia, indiana jones, and even batman. this newest edition (but soon to be old, cars 2 legos is coming out) happens to be the pirates of the caribbean series. it came out just in time for the forth movie, on stranger tides.

this particular set is from the second movie, dead man's chest. it features the bell tower where will turner and admiral norrington fight over the key to the chest, and the wheel of the mill that contains studs on the inside and outside for your minifigs to be placed inside of for play or show. this set is missing the... My son (7-1/2) bought this with his allowance and he loved putting this set together. It's neat that there are some moving parts to this and he was able to follow the instructions pretty much all by himself. He absolutely loves the Pirates of the Caribbean series so this was a great addition too the rest of his Pirates Legos.

This set, based on a scene from a Pirates of the Caribbean movie, is fun to build, has great play features, and is good value for the money.

The build begins with putting together the four detailed minifigs. Next, you build the base of the mill, which is full of nice little details. Small pieces are used to give the walls a texture (a common feature in recent Lego sets); there are also stickers which are printed with rock overlays. Brown flat pieces are angled on the roof plates to give the impression of a ramshackle building. One side of the mill is a bell tower, which has a zip line -- a minifig can grab the handle of one end of a rope, and the other end is tied to a bell weight, which can drop, pulling the minifig upwards. The final part of the build is the mill-wheel itself. This is slightly tedious and has to be done precisely; the instruction book has a scale diagram that may help children do it properly. The end result is great, though -- the mill wheel sits on an... Read more
