Very sturdy. Fun for both my 6 year old and my 2 1/2 year old. They love to "vroom" cars around as well as building stuff. Has fun speciality pieces along with the basics. Love Duplo. He loves both Lightning McQueen and Mater, so it was especially nice to have them both in this set. You can easily build the set as it is displayed on the box, but of course lots of other options exist with your imagination! My son really enjoys the "winch" or whatever it's called that is shown attached near the top of the clock tower on the box. That piece actually rotates in addition to winding up, so it has a lot of fun/play factor there.
